Trampoline parks have become increasingly popular in recent years, leading to a soaring number of emergency room visits for injuries sustained at these recreational venues, according to a new study in the September 2016 Pediatrics. The study, “Trampoline Park and Home Trampoline Injuries” (published online Aug. 1) found that U.S. emergency room visits for park-related injuries rose to 6,932 in 2014, up from 581 in 2010.
Fox News wrote an article about the dangers of Trampoline:
- Adult supervision at all times
- Only one jumper on the trampoline at a time
- No somersaults performed
- Adequate protective padding on the trampoline that is in good condition and appropriately placed
- When damaged, protective padding, the net enclosure, and any other parts should be repaired or replaced
